Salt - Kala Namak - Fine Grain
Kala Namak, or Black Salt (also called Nirav Black Salt or Sanchal), is a unique type of Indian mineral salt. It is mined from the volcanic regions of Pakistan and India, and despite its name is actually pinkish grey in color. Used as a condiment in Indian food, Kala Namak has a very distinct sulfurous odor and taste comparable to hard boiled eggs. It is added to chaats, chutneys and raitas.
